Wallpaper Ceilings for a Rancho Santa Fe Home

When we think about wallpaper, most of us think "walls", but many times, the best spot to add a wow factor is on the ceiling. This was the case for our client's Rancho Santa Fe home. The beautiful tray ceilings in the dining room and primary bedroom called out for a special treatment!

For the dining room we selected a gorgeous gold leaf from Philip Jeffries. The addition of our custom draperies surrounding the arched window do double duty by adding warmth and texture to the room as well as privacy at night when drawn closed. In this case, the existing chandelier needed to be removed in order to set up our scaffolding. Our electrician created a special crate designed to keep it safe during the installation and then reinstalled it once our work was complete.

The ceiling in the primary bedroom was also treated to wallpaper but with very different results. We selected a beautiful wallpaper from Tri-kes that has millions of tiny glass beads adhered to the pale blue background. They create a glamorous shimmer at night, but by day, they are subtle enough and to simply leave the room feeling fresh and airy, like looking up at a clear blue sky.
